Andrew has been in judo for 7 years. Often
he fights kids 50 pounds heavier and 5 years older. Andrew won the 7 year old boys USJA junior national championships in Toledo
2001.His record is 500 and 98. His tournament record is 90 & 7 .On Sunday March 3rd 2002 Andrew went undefeated and won the
Michigan State Judo Championship. On Saturday March 10th 2002 Andrew won 6 fights and lost 1 to become the Midwestern Judo
Champion. In July 2002 at Indianapolis Indiana, Andrew fought to a fifth place finish at the junior olympics, he was never
scored on. After having been sick almost all summer he almost didn't compete.
Andrew won the first ever snow throw in Kalamazoo, and then went on to win the 2003
Michigan state championship.
On July 4th 2003 Andrew went 6 and 1 to win the 2003 USJA
junior nationals in Louisville Kentucky. On July 5th Andrew filled in for an injured Alex in Nage-No-Kata they put on a strong
showing and finished 2nd .Andrew won the 2004 midwestern championships.Andrew and kata partner Amandeep finished 2nd at the
2004 USJA junior nationals.
